What’s New at Silly School Education: A Word of the Day for Every School Day

We’ve been working hard to make Silly School Education better than ever. Very soon, you’ll have a Word of the Day for every single day of the academic year — plus new features and exciting updates across the platform.

Here’s what’s new — and a quick note about our Phonics Sounds videos.

Platform Upgrade – Now Live!

We’ve listened to your feedback and made some big improvements:

  • New Search Bar – quickly find any song, video or lesson.

  • Favourites Feature – save your go-to resources and access them instantly.
(You’ll just need to enter your email once to set this up.)

Words of the Day – Full Academic Year Coverage

We’re adding fresh Word of the Day videos throughout the Autumn term.

Perfect for:

  • building vocabulary

  • daily routines

  • sparking classroom discussions

The full Autumn term will be completed by the end of September. After that, the Spring term will follow, finished by October/November.

This means teachers will soon have a Word of the Day for every single day of the school year — ready to use whenever you need it.

60 Seconds of Wow! – Every Wednesday

Every Wednesday on our YouTube channel, you’ll find a brand-new “60 Seconds of Wow” video.

From earwax and mud to bogeys and bees, these quick, fun clips are designed to slot perfectly into your lessons.

We’ll also be adding these videos to the Silly School Education website shortly — so keep an eye out for them appearing alongside your other classroom favourites.

And speaking of YouTube… we’ve just hit 90,000 subscribers. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us — we couldn’t have done it without you.

A Quick Note on Phonics

Our Phonics Songs (the ones you love and use most) are working perfectly as usual.

However, we are aware of an issue affecting some of our Phonics Sounds videos (not the songs). We’re already on it and working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.

What’s Next?

We’ll keep rolling out improvements to save you time and give you even more high-quality classroom resources.

Thank you for bearing with us while we fix the Phonics Sounds issue — and we hope you enjoy the new updates this term.

Best

Alex & Trisha
